[Charting](https://help.metrotrade.com/kb/metrotrade-platform?hsLang=en#charting) # Adding & Customizing Indicators Indicators add technical analysis tools directly onto your chart, such as moving averages, volatility bands, and momentum oscillators. This article covers how to add, customize, and remove indicators on the MetroTrade platform. ### **Opening the Indicators Menu** 1. Click the **Indicators** button in the chart toolbar. A number badge next to the button shows how many indicators are currently active. 2. Scroll through the list to find the indicator you want. Each entry shows the indicator's name, a short description of what it measures, and a colored dot showing its default line color. 2. Click the checkbox next to any indicator to add it to your chart. 3. The indicator appears on your chart immediately, and the badge on the Indicators button updates to reflect the new total. ### **Indicator Categories** Indicators are grouped by category to help you find what you're looking for. Categories include: - **Trend**: Moving averages such as MA 9, MA 21, MA 50, MA 200, EMA 9, EMA 21, EMA 50, EMA 200, and SMA 20. - **Overlay**: Indicators plotted directly on price, such as Bollinger Bands, Parabolic SAR, and BBI. - **Volume**: Volume, showing traded volume per candle. - **Momentum**: Oscillators such as RSI, MACD, and KDJ. ### **Customizing an Indicator** Once an indicator is enabled, a settings icon appears next to it in the Indicators panel. 1. Adjust the available options. Some indicators, like Bollinger Bands, include additional inputs such as Deviation (band distance from the moving average). 4. **Line color** 5. **Line width** 6. **Line style** (Solid or Dashed) 7. Click **Back** to return to the main Indicators list. ### **Removing an Indicator** 1. Open the Indicators panel. 2.
