# Changing Timeframes

The timeframe you choose determines how much price data each candle represents. This article shows you how to switch timeframes on a chart.

### **How to Change the Timeframe**

1. Look at the timeframe selector in the toolbar above the chart.
2. Click any of the available timeframes: 1m, 5m, 15m, 1H, 4H, 1D, 1W, or 1M.
3. The chart updates immediately to show candles at the selected timeframe. The active timeframe is highlighted in the toolbar.

### **Keep in Mind**

- Shorter timeframes, like 1m or 5m, show more candles over a shorter period, which can be useful for tracking short-term price movement in more detail.
- Longer timeframes, like 1D or 1W, show fewer candles over a longer period, which can help you see the broader trend.
