# How much do I need in my account to trade nano products?

## You need at least $100 in your MetroTrade trading account to trade nano products. MetroTrade automatically liquidates open positions when your account's Net Liquidation Value (NLV) falls below $50.

 How auto-liquidation works

Auto-liquidation closes your open positions automatically once your NLV reaches under $50. It is a safeguard that limits further losses on your account.

NLV is what your account would be worth if every open position were closed at current prices: your cash plus unrealized gains, minus unrealized losses. With $100, your open trades can lose $50 before liquidation.

 How to avoid auto-liquidation

- **Fund above the minimum.** $100 is the floor; extra funds widen your cushion.
- **Watch your NLV, not your cash balance.** NLV is what triggers liquidation.
- **Keep positions small.** Each additional contract uses up the cushion faster.
