What Are Exchange and Regulatory Fees?

Exchange and regulatory fees are standard charges applied to all futures trades. These fees are set by exchanges and regulators - not by MetroTrade - and are passed directly to customers.

Exchange Fees

Exchange fees are charged by the futures exchange where your trade is executed (such as CME, CBOT, NYMEX, or other exchanges)

These fees:

  • Apply to every trade (per contract, per side)
  • Vary by product and contract size
  • Are determined by the exchange, not the broker

Exchange fees typically vary by contract and trading activity.

Regulatory Fees

For U.S. futures trading, this includes:

  • NFA assessment fee
  • Charged on each futures transaction
  • Currently about $0.02 per contract, per side

If you have any questions about trading fees, contact the MetroTrade support team.
